Kelmi — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Kelmi collects nothing. No account, no server, no tracking, no telemetry. Your conversations never leave your browser.

Kelmi is a Chrome extension that adds full-text search to your own Claude (claude.ai) conversation history.

What data Kelmi accesses

To let you search inside your conversations, Kelmi reads your own conversation list and message content from Claude's own interface (claude.ai), using the session you are already logged into. It uses this only to build a local search index stored inside your browser.

Where your data is stored

Everything Kelmi stores stays on your device, inside your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). Nothing is uploaded, synced, shared, or sent to any third party or to us. Kelmi has no backend server.

What Kelmi does NOT do

Permissions

Kelmi requests a single host permission: access to https://claude.ai/*. This is required to read your own conversation list and message content from Claude's interface in order to build the local search index. No broader permissions (such as tabs or access to other websites) are requested.

Limited Use

Kelmi's handling of any information obtained from claude.ai adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Kelmi does not sell or transfer this information to third parties, and does not use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or any purpose other than providing the extension's single feature — local, in-browser search of the user's own Claude conversations.

Data retention and your control

All data (the local search index) is retained only in your browser for as long as you keep the extension installed, never on any server. You remove everything Kelmi stores simply by uninstalling the extension (or clearing site data for claude.ai). There is no server-side data to delete, because none exists.
